Puerto Vallarta, or Vallarta as locals refer to it, is an awesome tourist town. You’ll spend a ton of money staying and dining at all the incredible tourist areas. Or, you could stay outside of those areas for no more than $14/night and eat better food for far less! Be willing to walk, take the local bus, or Uber from your AirBnB, hostel or CouchSurfing location. Then, go visit the Romantica Zone and the tourist area of the malecon. But get your coffee and breakfast at Natureza which is just a few blocks off of the main drag.
