Great food, and Incredible Service

Sannie is a talented foodie, so with her birthday around the corner, and only a few days available to travel, I decided to surprise her with a trip to Charleston, SC.

And she played along by deleting emails from the airlines and asking the ticket agent not to reveal our destination when she checked her bag. It wasn’t until we went to board our flight from Atlanta to Charleston that she finally knew our destination.

Upon arriving at 2am, we were pleasantly greeted by our host, offered wine, and given recommendations for our stay. Side note; Don’t look for a check in desk, it doesn’t exist.

We enjoyed a spacious room, a breakfast bag- mini croissants, fruit, and muffin, delivered each morning. And though a highly rated restaurant is on site, we didn’t try it. There’s just too many other great options. We did, however, make it up to the rooftop bar for delicious drinks and a snack of Mac n cheese bites.

Knowing it was going to be hot and humid, I armed us with personal cooling fans from HomeDepot. One was junk, not much relief for our first day of touring the historic section of town. I later found out from a mother-daughter pair, that Amazon has some good ones.

Bulldog Tours gave us an informative 2-hour peek into local history and then a separate food tour later that day. We had the pleasure of being the only two in the food tour, and our host was fun and informative. We sampled dishes from four local restaurants.
